Bandol is a vibrant harbor town located in the Provence region of France. The harbor can typically handle around 1500 boats at one time and the surrounding streets are brimming with fine restaurants, shopping and even a casino for landlocked tourists and those in the boating crowd who wish to venture ashore.
Whether traveling by water or by rental car, Bandol is very close to grandiose white chalk calanques that decorate the coastline all the way to the port of Marseilles, which lies around 50 kilometers west. Toulouse is located to the east up the Mediterranean coast.
Even for those visitors who are not into boating, this beach town has plenty to offer. The palm-tree-lined promenade near the harbor is flanked by beautifully painted pastel homes, while the easy access to gorgeous beaches that are separated by dramatic rocky section of coastline make this a remarkable destination for tourists. |
