Bourg Saint Maurice is located in the Rhone-Alpes region of southeastern France and is the last of the larger towns that are located in the Tarentaise valley in the heart of the Alps. Although there is no skiing at this altitude, the town is located in the Paradiski ski area and is linked to the Arc en Ciel railway.

Open all year, Bourg Saint Maurice is also a popular summer tourist destination for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy water sports. The Isere river boasts a whitewater slalom course and is also used for international kayak and canoe events.
The magnificent mountains surrounding Bourg Saint Maurice are excellent for hiking and mountain biking in the summer months, with ski lifts and restaurants that operate all year long to assist hikers and bikers in reaching the higher peaks. Ski-lovers don’t despair, however, for the nearest summer glacier skiing is only 27 kilometres away in Tignes!
