The town of Caudebec-en-Caux is located on the right bank of the Seine River in the Upper Normandy region of northern France, around 30 kilometers northwest of Rouen. Today, this is a wonderful place to stop on a road trip through the region, so be sure to reserve a rental car for your visit.
Of particular note, the impressive, 320 meter, cable-stayed bridge, Pont de Brotonne, is located nearby, spanning the Seine and improving access between towns in the region since 1977. Also of note, Caudebec-en-Caux is home to an impressive 15th century Gothic-style church, as well as a well-preserved 12th century dwelling known as the Maison des Templiers, or ‘Templar’s House.’ In addition, consider visiting the 14th century prison that is located here, as well as the grand, renaissance-era Château d'Etelan, which can be found just outside of town, overlooking the last bend of the Seine just before it spills into the English Channel. |
