Located in the northwestern suburbs of Paris, France, the city of Clichy is one of the most densely populated areas in all of Europe. At only 6.4 kilometers from the center of Paris, it is also a commercial hub and home to some of the world’s leading companies, including Sony France, Bic and the L’Oreal Group.
Clichy is also home to several eight-lane highways, countless warehouses and lots of low-income housing, making it a non-traditional stop on a sightseeing tour. However, while visiting Paris tourists should seriously consider renting a car and planning a stop in this ultra-real, urban locale.
The northwestern area of Clichy features the Quai de Clichy, or wharf, next to the bridge of Asnieres, while a number of old residential buildings, like that which can be found at the Passage Berthier, are a gritty site to behold. In addition, the river Seine borders Clichy, and both visitors and locals alike enjoy the many walking paths along its banks. |
