The picturesque town of Guéret is located just over 70 kilometers northeast of Limoges in the Limousin region of central France. The surrounding countryside is dotted with charming farms and woodlands, so be sure to reserve a rental car for your visit and plan a few day trips!

A number of cultural and historical attractions can be found in Guéret, including the 13th century church of St. Pierre and St. Paul, and the Gothic-style, 15th century Hotel de Moneyroux, which is open to visitors on public holidays. Also of interest, the 17th century chateau of Sainte Feyrer was constructed on top of an ancient castle, and some remains are still visible that date all the way back to the Middle Ages. In addition, Chabrières forest lies just south of town and features a zoo with a fully functioning wolf pack, as well as several impressive natural monoliths.
