The urban community of Nanterre is situated on the east bank of a loop of the Seine River in the western suburbs of Paris, which lies in the Île-de-France region of north-central France, just over 11 kilometers from the city’s centre. Interestingly, the eastern portion of Nanterre boasts some of the tallest buildings in the area, while much of the La Defense business district can be found here as well.
