The picturesque town of Pornic is located 50 kilometers from Nantes in the Pays de la Loire region of western France and is a largely undiscovered yet perfect vacation spot, thanks to its Mediterranean climate and hot, sunny summers. Also of note, the community of Sainte-Marie-sur-Mer is also now part of Pornic. This magnificent historic market town boasts a stunning coastline on the Cote de Jade that is dotted with pristine coves that are perfect for spending fun-filled days in the sun.
While visiting Pornic, be sure to pay a visit to the 12th century Chateau de Pornic, which is a beautifully restored castle that is not always open to the public but is definitely worth a look nonetheless. Also, be sure to reserve a rental car for your visit, and spend a few days exploring some of the other attractions in the area, which has been designated a World Heritage for Humanity Site by UNESCO. |
