The community of Porticcio, also known as Grosseto-Prugna-Porticcio, can be found in the Mediterranean Sea on the island of Corsica, around 30 kilometers from the town of Ajaccio at the southern end of the Gulf of Ajaccio in the Corse-du-Sud department of France. Today, it is a popular tourist destination, thanks to the warm, sunny climate and 20 kilometers of pristine coastline located in the region.
Be sure to reserve a rental car for your visit to Porticcio, and plan to spend some time exploring the surrounding areas, including the many scenic creeks and magnificent pine forests. Also of note, the Genoese tower Capitello can be found nearby and offers stunning views to visitors who are willing to hike to its summit, while the nearby medieval village of Vignale is also worth a visit. In addition, adventuresome travelers will delight in the many outdoor activities offered in the area, including hiking in the mountains, scuba diving and swimming. |
