The picturesque coastal port town of Propriano lies on the island of Corsica in the Mediterranean Sea, in the Corsica region of France on the Valinco Gulf near the lovely village of Campomoro. Settlement here can be traced all the way back to the 6th century – a fact that combines with the warm, sunny climate to make it a popular tourist destination today.
The port at Propriano was established in the early 19th century and a number of pristine beaches that are located within walking distance of the port and marina are available today. Also of note, a stunning, 14th century Genoese bridge can be found about 10 kilometers north of the village, while the water sports here are sure to keep even the most adventuresome travelers entertained. In addition, a variety of excellent shopping and dining opportunities exist, while the port regularly ferries passengers back and forth to Sardinia and Marseille. |
