The community of Rosny-sous-Bois is located in the eastern suburbs of Paris in the Île-de-France region of north-central France, just over 10 kilometers from the city’s centre. The area has been officially settled since the 12th century CE, but much older artifacts have been found here as well, giving the area a rich cultural heritage. It is an excellent place from which to explore the many important attractions located throughout the area, so be certain to reserve a rental car for your visit.
While in Rosny-sous-Bois, be sure to check out the 20th century St. Genevieve church, as well as the town’s historic museum and the 19th century Fort Rosny. Also of note, the Rosny-Rail Museum is located at the local train station and is dedicated to the history of railway operations. In addition, while mining operations ceased in the late 1990s, gypsum mines can still be seen in the nearby Park of John DeCesare. |
